Got a few new cool projects I got to work on that I wanted to let folks know about!
Seth is a cool FPS where I got to voice the titular Seth and some other fun roles, I really love the character interactions. Immortal Redneck is one of my absolute favorite games of all time so anything reminding me of it is automatically on my radar – and it’s really cool that when Seth came out it even got to be in a bundle deal with it!
Blood West Scavengers came out and it's all I've been playing - may god damn the Barren Lands. There's a great trailer that’s kind of just a hype factory of casting for Retro FPS fans and happens to include me as The Father, it’s crazy to be in a lineup with Stephan Weyte, Terri Brosius, they even got Mike J on it, but honestly what really gets me pumped is that they got Weapo in there too, he’s such a treasure. Mmm... Treasure...
MOTORSLICE came out and I'm IN IT! Though my role is pretty small, I just voice Operator G who intros the game a lil, but it’s awesome to get to be part of the game whatsoever because I’ve had my eye on it for a while, pretty rad parkour experience and I’m glad to see so many folks have been enjoying it. I streamed it for a little bit but uhh... I had too much fun, my power went out like a half hour in. Definitely need to stream it more.
I also got to work with Alfabusa once again (previously had worked on Half Life Zero Viscosity, and Turnip28), but this time for Hunter: The Parenting, as the voice of Gabriel Angelo. I love that whole crew of absolute nutjobs – they really make stuff that is so unapologetically for them and their audience, and it’s always hilarious and a ton of fun. And being alongside Vinny is definitely a delight worth noting.
And of course I gotta mention that I’m so happy to see that folks are finally gonna get to enjoy Shortage Electric, very happy to voice Phil in it. @Shigloo has been a total pleasure to work with and it’s just so neat seeing it come to life after all this time.
Also I’ve been officially announced as a special guest for Fanaticcon in Ottawa on July 18th, so feel free to swing by and say hi, I’ll be doing autographs and photos but if I get some downtime I might go bug Alex Rochon, he's pretty cool... Actually he's why I even heard about the event even though I live here because when we were working Kami-Con together he told me about it.
My voice requests have reopened, the guidelines have a couple small tweaks so you might consider reading them before you submit anything, but it’s the same ol usual fun where you can get a silly lil Cameo style custom message voiced.
I don’t have much NG news this time around, I’m definitely looking to collab with folks on here a bit more, but one thing I will shout out at least is that my old pal @dylan posted a new animation which is great. Voicing some of his animations like almost 15 years ago is probably some of the most personally influential stuff I’ve ever done, I tend to mainly focus on memes and games but working with him really helped open my mind to the range of artistry VO could be part of. Glad I could help spur him to log back in on here – I now seek to emulate his path of being generally Offline regarding social media and whatnot, but I believe NG will always be a good place for fun and art so I'm glad we're both on here still, and joined by so many new faces here too!
As always of course I wanna shout out some fanart – such as these which I recently looked at on stream:
There are many other great pieces which I have seen and love, I'm a bit behind on fanart and I promised myself I'd limit how much I try to cover on stream, but just know there's some really good shit on this art portal for folks to check out and I dearly appreciate all of it.
That's about it! I've decided rather than try to do an NG news post on any kind of schedule, I'm going to just post 'em sorta whenever, when there's at least some stuff to actually post about. However, I am finally getting back (more) into making my silly little meme videos and I'm hoping to be posting one of those every week over on my YouTube. Something I want to do at some point is put together some compilations of them as submissions here on NG. On NG I can't bring over a lot of the game music, or sounds, or images I use for the videos, and the super short shitpost format doesn't really vibe as well here I think anyway, so I might just do them as big compilations of the actual VO, that way they're here in SOME capacity but without littering the portal with 800 shitposts. Give me somewhere between now and forever to get around to this though. For now I gotta get back to dying by one week in Scavengers...
